revisions to sacred texts?

the importance of versioning...

we change a word, it changes the text/document. period. fact. we've altered it at that point. so i'm curious, how many times have all of the major texts from all religions been altered over the generations/millenia? i'm actually asking... anyone know?

so as an experiment, i decide to do some biblomancy (which i should have a page on [under practices probably] soon enough) and, AFTER being lead/feeling lead via my intuition/Holy Spirit/Sacred Fem, which i (at the moment, and know that i don't always choose to... though perhaps should) decided to "run" with and so i grabbed a KJ version of Holy Bible off of my shelf and randomly turned to a page (and please note that bibliomancy is done with many different texts/grimoires/spellbooks) and instantly focused on a specific verse. This time, it happened to be Genesis 37:3, which is incredibility interesting to me immediately (simply due to the numerology involved that i see, though i decide to flow further this time in that i decide to research different versions of this same verse. Here's what i found (along with some, probably semi-sarcastic (sorry) comments mixed in throughout... and please note again, this could've just as easily been the YogaSutras, or the Koran, or the 777 for that matter. It was a Christian version of Holy Bible this time. Other sacred texts have also been altered/revised/?improved? Regardless, below are ALL the SAME verse... and only a few different versions of them selected...

Genesis 37:3Names of God Bible (NOG)
3 Israel loved Joseph more than all his sons because Joseph had been born in Israel’s old age. So he made Joseph a special robe with long sleeves.

Genesis 37:3New American Bible (Revised Edition) (NABRE)
3 Israel loved Joseph best of all his sons, for he was the child of his old age; and he had made him a long ornamented tunic.[a]
Footnotes:
a.	37:3 Jacob’s favoring Joseph over his other sons is a cause of the brothers’ attempt on his life. Throughout the story,
Jacob is unaware of the impact of his favoritism on his other sons (cf. vv. 33–35; 42:36). Long ornamented tunic:
the meaning of the Hebrew phrase is unclear. In 2 Sm 13:18–19, it is the distinctive dress of unmarried royal daughters.
The “coat of many colors” in the Septuagint became the traditional translation. Ancient depictions of Semites in formal dress
show them with long, ornamented robes and that is the most likely meaning here. Possibly, the young Joseph is given a coat that
symbolizes honor beyond his years. Later, Pharaoh will clothe Joseph in a robe that symbolizes honor (41:42).
(dj note: footnotes (as usual, to me, most interesting). I disagree though, as the sept [and should we note the blatant disregard for the sept = the # 7??? I can’t… TOO coincidental… not that that exists…])

Genesis 37:3New American Standard Bible (NASB)
3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his sons, because he was the son of his old age; and he made him a [a]varicolored tunic.
Footnotes:
a.	Genesis 37:3 Or full-length robe
(dj note: interesting how the “vari” as is “variable” is just tossed in here now… from where? Why that particular change? To induce change in Mind… in mind opinion at least…)

Genesis 37:3New Century Version (NCV)
3 Since Joseph was born when his father Israel[a] was old, Israel loved him more than his other sons. He made Joseph a special robe with long sleeves.
Footnotes:
a.	37:3 Israel Also called Jacob.
(dj notes: well the fact that “Joseph was called Israel is now obvious… so why the change in the text/writing of how it was BEFORE… originially? Why this change? What was the necessecity to do so? The only reasonable answer is more control over the masses…)

Genesis 37:3New English Translation (NET Bible)
3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his sons because he was a son born to him late in life, and he made a special tunic for him.

Genesis 37:3New International Reader's Version (NIRV)
3 Israel loved Joseph more than any of his other sons. That’s because Joseph had been born to him when he was old. Israel made him a beautiful robe.
(dj note: now all of a sudden what was a “tunic” or a “septaguint” or “ornamental robe” or “cloak” is now “beautiful” … and a “robe” again… why?

Genesis 37:3New International Version (NIV)
3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than any of his other sons, because he had been born to him in his old age; and he made an ornate[a] robe for him.
Footnotes:
a.	Genesis 37:3 The meaning of the Hebrew for this word is uncertain; also in verses 23 and 32.
(dj note: saw “urn ate” in ornate initially. And again the reference to v23 & v32, neither of which I’ll reference at this time due to simply “feel” based on numerology… yes, I’m a silly person that likes to play with numbers… but the 23 and the 32 both imply the 6/six/sex, which actually is also the inverse of the end… they also imply the 5 however which is Mars/Aries/Change/Accidents/Conflict yet also a balance point, also the quintessence/Spirit/5th element… still staying away from it for now…)

Genesis 37:3New International Version - UK (NIVUK)
3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than any of his other sons, because he had been born to him in his old age; and he made an ornate[a] robe for him.
Footnotes:

Genesis 37:3New King James Version (NKJV)
3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age. Also he made him a tunic of many colors.

(dj note: and we’re back to tunic again… over time, people forget, or rather overwrite that anaolf / register in their brains…)

Genesis 37:3New Life Version (NLV)
3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his sons, because Joseph was born when he was an old man. And Israel made him a long coat of many colors.

(dj note: and now back to a “long coat”)

Genesis 37:3New Living Translation (NLT)
3 Jacob[a] loved Joseph more than any of his other children because Joseph had been born to him in his old age. So one day Jacob had a special gift made for Joseph—a beautiful robe.[b]
Footnotes:
a.	37:3a Hebrew Israel; also in 37:13. See note on 35:21.
b.	37:3b Traditionally rendered a coat of many colors. The exact meaning of the Hebrew is uncertain.
(dj note: the footnotes of the other #s/chap/verses here may be worth a tracing…)

Genesis 37:3New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than any other of his children, because he was the son of his old age; and he had made him a long robe with sleeves.[a]
(dj note: and again w/the sleeves… does this imply the pillars Jachin/Boaz? As the multi-colors the chakras perhaps?)

Genesis 37:3New Revised Standard Version, Anglicised (NRSVA)
3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than any other of his children, because he was the son of his old age; and he had made him a long robe with sleeves.[a]
Footnotes:
a.	Genesis 37:3 Traditional rendering (compare Gk): a coat of many colours; meaning of Heb uncertain
(dj note: dang… now they don’t even spell out Hebrew…)

Genesis 37:3New Revised Standard Version, Anglicised Catholic Edition (NRSVACE)
3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than any other of his children, because he was the son of his old age; and he had made him a long robe with sleeves.[a]
Footnotes:
a.	Genesis 37:3 Traditional rendering (compare Gk): a coat of many colours; meaning of Heb uncertain
Genesis 37:3New Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (NRSVCE)
3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than any other of his children, because he was the son of his old age; and he had made him a long robe with sleeves.[a]
Footnotes:
a.	Genesis 37:3 Traditional rendering (compare Gk): a coat of many colors; meaning of Heb uncertain
(dj note: what’s “Gk”?)

Bereshis 37:3Orthodox Jewish Bible (OJB)
3 Now Yisroel loved Yosef more than all his children, because he was the ben zekunim (the son of his old age); and he made him a kesones passim (ketonet [tunic] reaching to palms and soles, [see Messianic significance Yn 19:23 OJBC]).

(dj note: its “reaching” implies to me a robe…)

Genesis 37:3Revised Standard Version (RSV)
3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than any other of his children, because he was the son of his old age; and he made him a long robe with sleeves.

(dj note: and sure enough, as synch would have it, we have a “robe” again.)

Genesis 37:3Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (RSVCE)
3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than any other of his children, because he was the son of his old age; and he made him a long robe with sleeves.

Genesis 37:3Tree of Life Version (TLV)

Genesis 37:3The Voice (VOICE)
3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than any of his other children because he came along when he was an old man. So Israel presented Joseph with a special[a] robe he had made for him—a spectacularly colorful robe with long sleeves in it.
Footnotes:
a.	37:3 Meaning of the Hebrew is uncertain. Greek and Latin manuscripts read, “many-colored”; similar Aramaic words mean, “long-sleeved.”
(dj note: implication of expansion, from my vision at least)

Genesis 37:3World English Bible (WEB)
3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age, and he made him a coat of many colors.

(dj note: and again back to the “coat” now… to “protect” us from the rain? Or is this “goat” or “c/see tao?”)

Genesis 37:3Wycliffe Bible (WYC)
3 Forsooth Israel loved Joseph above all his sons, for he had begotten him in his eld (age); and he made to Joseph a coat of many colours (and he made a coat of many colours for Joseph).

(dj note: the wording “made to Joseph” but also “for Joseph” implies casting it upon him… to me at least.)

Genesis 37:3Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
3 And Israel hath loved Joseph more than any of his sons, for he [is] a son of his old age, and hath made for him a long coat;

(dj note: I love the “[is]” which we can easily double for isis, but also … why the braces [] necessary even? Why the re-wording?)

(dj note: skipped a bunch of Spanish translations… to include later…)
